Palmer: Verstappen won't change his approach to fighting on the track
Max Verstappen risks being disqualified for one stage if he earns at least one penalty point before June 29. Former Formula 1 racer Jolyon Palmer believes that due to the potential disqualification, Max will not change his approach to fighting on the track, but he will not intentionally crash into rivals.
Jolyon Palmer: "I don't think Max will change his approach to fighting on the track. He has only one way to race, and he won't give it up. He has won several races this year. If Max had had a different approach to fighting on the track, these victories probably would not have happened. For example, in Imola, he overtook the outside of the first corner. He's the kind of racer who puts everything on the line.
Max takes more risks than the others, and I haven't noticed that his approach has changed over time. In Barcelona, obviously, everything went according to a different scenario – this is not a race. Max lost his cool, rather than misjudging the situation on the track.
I don't think Verstappen will repeat this maneuver, but he will continue to race in his own style. He will continue to act on the verge of a foul and test the limits of what is acceptable every time."
