Fernando Alonso: Such a film is useful for Formula 1

There is less than a week left before the European premiere of the F1 film, but the official presentation ceremony of the film took place last Monday in New York at the famous Radio City hall. Of course, the elite of Formula 1 went there immediately after the Canadian Grand Prix, although not in full force, because a special premiere screening was arranged for the drivers before the Monaco Grand Prix

, including Fernando Alonso, who was not in New York, he had more important things to do at home, in Spain, and to this We'll come back later, but the two–time world champion has his own opinion about the film.

"It's a very good film, our paddock, teams and riders are really quite well represented in it," the Spanish newspaper Marca quoted him as saying. – Of course, there are elements of a Hollywood approach in films of this kind, but I thought that the authors managed to maintain a balance.

Of course, I think that such a film is useful for our sport. Everyone will love how Formula 1 races are shown there, and I hope that the fans will enjoy watching the movie. But this is a movie, not a documentary, and that's not really how our sport works.

There are a couple of things that don't happen in reality, but I would say that most of what happens on the track is shown in a very original and vivid way. It was also fun to see my colleagues, the racers, in the film, and I got into the frame, even though I only appear on the screen for a couple of seconds."

And now about why Alonso immediately returned to Spain from Canada: he and his friend and colleague Pedro de la Rosa, who serves as the ambassador of the Aston Martin team, had to make it to the presentation of the new indoor cartodrome, which is part of the Fernando Alonso Museum complex, located in Llanera, Asturias.

The following comment appeared on the racer's social media pages: "Everything is ready for you to experience the most intense sensations on a modern indoor go-kart track. It's 400-plus meters of pure adrenaline on a next-generation multi-level track..."

By the way, the first one to like it was Esteban Ocon, Alonso's former Alpine teammate, who now plays for Haas F1.

One more interesting point is worth mentioning: on the map on which Alonso rode during the presentation of the new cartodrome, there was the number 33, which Max Verstappen used at one time until he became world champion.
