Schumacher criticizes fellow commentator Rosberg.

"Take a seat, Nico, you've lost!"

Ralf Schumacher has criticized fellow German and ex-Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg. Currently, both are expert analysts for Sky's broadcasts in Germany and the UK, respectively. During a recent event in Canada, 2016 world champion Rosberg mentioned that he had proposed mentoring Lando Norris, who has been seen as struggling mentally, but Norris declined.

"Nico Rosberg has a unique character," Schumacher remarked to Sky Deutschland. "He often brings up how my brother (Michael) would stay in the bathroom longer to mentally unsettle him, rather than just admitting, 'Okay, Michael was simply faster in Monaco.' It seems to still affect him today. Sit down, Nico, you lose!" Schumacher remarked with disdain.

He believes it's entirely reasonable for Norris to have declined Rosberg's mentoring proposal. "He’s had his career, he’s won the world championship - congratulations," the 49-year-old stated. "But someone like Lando Norris needs stability, calm - that’s the kind of guidance he needs. The more external pressure you receive, the more it impacts you."

There are some who believe that the difference between Norris and his teammate Oscar Piastri in 2025 is due to the latter having Mark Webber as his manager. Schumacher disagrees with this notion. "Sometimes all it takes is a good friend to divert your attention in the evenings," he commented.
