Gabriel Bortoleto: I damaged the new floor.
The weekend at Silverstone hasn't been easy for Sauber; both drivers were eliminated in the first session of qualifying...
Gabriel Bortolato (17th): "It's a tough weekend. From the first session, we lacked speed, and the car's balance was worse than in previous Grand Prix races, plus gusty winds made things even more difficult — our car doesn't cope well with such conditions. Compared to Austria, where we were strong in all sessions, this track just isn't suitable for us. Unfortunately, I spun a few times during practice, damaging the floor, so I had to use the previous version in qualifying. That clearly didn't help in close battles, but I still gave it my all. I don't think we could have done better today."
Nico Hulkenberg (19th): "From the start of the weekend, it was obvious we lack speed. When the wind picked up, driving in the first sector became even more challenging, and I couldn't complete the lap as I wanted. Windy conditions, especially with slight rain approaching, complicated the situation. Although everyone had to deal with it, it seems to have affected us more.
Compared to the tracks where we were competitive, this circuit revealed some weak spots in our car. The configuration of this track just doesn't suit us. I hope that the changing weather tomorrow will help us catch up."
