Hamilton: SF-25 is the most difficult car to handle.
At Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton finished fourth, matching his best result of the season in Sunday races, but this was achieved with great difficulty for the seven-time world champion. After the race, Lewis called the Ferrari SF-25 the most difficult car to handle among all the cars he had driven at Silverstone.
Lewis Hamilton: "This is the most difficult car to handle that I have driven here. I've only driven the SF-25 twice on a wet track, and I can't even find words to describe how hard it was.
The car doesn't like this kind of weather conditions. But we gathered a lot of information, and now I can meet with the people designing the car for next season and tell them which elements of the current car should not be repeated in the new one."
Commenting on the race, Lewis again criticized the team strategists: "We lost many positions due to strategy. I don't fully understand how I moved from fourth to eighth after the pit stop, but it made life a lot harder. I was stuck behind three cars for a long time. Then I made an earlier pit stop hoping for a 'undercut,' but it was so difficult. The car really doesn't like these conditions.
I just wasn't sure about the behavior of the rear of the car. It was constantly sliding, so I didn't have confidence in the car at all.
Of course, the goal is to build confidence and go faster and faster each time. But in our case, it feels like building a wall and then taking it apart, over and over again. When you can't build confidence in the car, nothing works out. That’s what happened to me for most of the race."
