Mark Stewart: It's nice to hear Prosta's opinion about his father.

      At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Jackie Stewart's sons are driving cars that, more than half a century ago, their father, a three-time world champion, won races in Formula 1 with.

      Pol took the wheel of the Tyrrell 003, with which Stewart won the German Grand Prix in 1971, while Mark sat in the cockpit of the Tyrrell 006 from 1973.

      "Yesterday, Pol and I found ourselves among great racing drivers, and all of them were world champions!" shared Mark Stewart. "We consider ourselves extremely lucky because at Goodwood we have the opportunity to talk to these people. Including Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell – and that's wonderful!

      Here I had the chance to sit behind the wheel of the Tyrrell car in which my father won the world championship in 1973, and I experienced emotions that are impossible to describe!

      Alain Prost mentioned that he was a fan of our father's talent, but you could also say that the father reciprocated. I’m very pleased to hear Alain’s opinion of my father, but I’ve known this for a long time: once we were playing golf in Switzerland in 1992, when he was sitting out that season. And he told me then: "Your father was my hero, and his achievements always inspired me."

      Hearing all this from someone like Alain is incredibly pleasing. I have at home a very special souvenir related to this: when Alain broke my father’s record in Portugal in September 1987, which was 27 Grand Prix wins, he gave me a Goodyear cap, and I still keep it. Such souvenirs symbolize these special bonds between people, and that’s wonderful!

      Pol Stewart added: "We see how much respect the champions of those years have for our father, but racers of that era truly respected each other. But even more pleasant is seeing Bernie Ecclestone among them and noticing the respect they show him."

      It was a wonderful moment because there are no conflicts related to business issues among the participants, and they are just sharing memories of those glorious days, of how incredible the journey they took together was.
