Alain Prost about his role in Oscar Piastre's career
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, four-time World Champion Alain Prost spoke about his role in Oscar Piastri's career...
Alain Prost: "I know Oscar much better than Lando Norris because I was the one who convinced Renault management to accept him into their racing academy. At first, they were hesitant.
I followed Oscar's performances in Formula 3, or even in Formula 4, and later in Formula 2. I like the way he acts on the track. He's a bit like me: he thinks when choosing an overtaking manoeuvre and acts smarter than his competitors.
You know, I like him. Some drivers sometimes hit a dead end when it comes to their driving skills, but drivers like Oscar are usually capable of progressing.
If the gap narrows and one driver or team significantly closes the distance, the situation becomes more complicated, but I don't think McLaren will face such a problem."
