Ten years since the death of Jules Bianchi
Ten years ago today, on July 17, 2015, Jules Bianchi passed away at the Nice Hospital. He was a young and talented driver who sustained severe head injuries during the Japanese Grand Prix.
The rain race held in Suzuka on October 5, 2014, was the cause of the first tragedy in the Formula 1 world since the black weekend at Imola in 1994, when Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna lost their lives.
The events that happened to Jules were deeply felt by the racing community, and today many remember the French driver.
Graham Loudon, Cadillac team principal: "Today we remember our friend #JB17. But we also remember another day – the 2014 British Grand Prix, when Jules qualified 12th, ahead of both Ferrari cars, both Williams, both Sauber, and both Caterham."
