Vasseur: Tires are the key factor of the last 25 seasons

      Effective tire work has always been one of the factors of success in Formula 1, but since 2011, when Pirelli became the sole supplier, it has gained even greater importance. Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur considers this factor to be decisive.

      We all fight for competitiveness; we all aim to make the car fast in any conditions, but much depends on the asphalt and the track layout. As we've seen, it will be difficult to catch up with McLaren because they have an advantage.

      On certain tracks or under specific conditions, we can be on par with McLaren, but on most tracks, they win by six to seven tenths just through tire work, and we are left to fight against Mercedes and Red Bull."
