The drainage system on the track in Zandvoort, Netherlands, could not withstand several days of heavy rain. The track was washed out, and the published photos from the press service show streams flowing over the asphalt. The access roads were also flooded, so the race track had to be temporarily closed. Restoration work is underway, and the track should be reopen today – the Formula 1 Academy will conduct a two-day test. The Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort will take place from August 29 to 31.
