More than forty crews will start the third stage of REС.

More than forty teams will start the third stage of the Russian Endurance Race Series (REC), which will take place on July 26 at the Igora Drive autodrome as part of the GARAGE FEST speed and music festival. Participants will compete with a wide variety of vehicles—from modified GT Light class cars featuring Mitsubishi, Mazda 3, BMW, Mini Cooper—to powerful GT cars (Mercedes, Audi R8, Porsche) and sports prototypes. The third stage of the series will once again be the focal point not only due to its position in the calendar but also because of its historical significance for national motorsport. In 2024, REC set a record with forty teams starting the race. This upcoming Saturday, fans will have the opportunity to see for the first time seven teams competing in GT3 cars in the GT Pro class. Igor Yermilin, founder of REC: "The GT Pro class with GT3 cars will be the most powerful class in Russian 'ring' racing. GT3 cars are one and a half times more powerful than GT4 and twice as powerful as sports prototypes (CN Pro), and at least two and a half times more powerful than GT Light class cars. GT3 uses the latest racing technologies—effective aerodynamics, carbon-ceramic brakes, racing ABS, traction control systems. These cars compete in the world's most prestigious series, such as GT World Challenge. GT3 is based on road cars from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, but in terms of preparation, it is closer to racing prototypes. The competition will be exciting, as leading REC drivers will participate—many of whom are well known to fans from previous years' performances in other classes of the Russian Endurance Race Series, as well as from multiple international series participations." Russian drivers who regularly podium in international races—Alexey Nemkin, Denis Remenyako, Rinat Salikhov, Konstantin Terechenko, Marat Khayrov—will participate in the Igora Drive race. In the sports prototypes class, for the first time, Kirill Kirakozov’s teammate from Balchug Racing Team will be Alim Geshev, world champion in the Radical SR10 class (2024) and Ligier European Series champion in the JS P4 Pro-AM class (2024). The only REC driver participating in two different teams and classes during the race will be Konstantin Terechenko (SPORA GT #63 in GT Pro driving Lamborghini Huracan Evo GT3 and №29 TEAMGARIS sports prototype Ligier). The only driver who will complete all four hours of the race in the BMW GT4 in the GT class is Marat Khayrov from APRTeam. The regulations allow this. The four-hour REC race at Igora Drive starts at 14:00 on July 26. Tickets for the GARAGE FEST festival and the REC stage are available on the Rosgonok website.
