Hamilton: The new features did not improve the handling of SF-25
At the Belgian Grand Prix, the Ferrari team brought technical updates, including a revised rear suspension. However, this did not help Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton compete for the lead.
Leclerc showed the fourth time in sprint qualifying, and Hamilton was spun around during the final attempt in the first session, ending up eighteenth. After qualifying, Charles tried to comment on the results, but an upset Lewis answered questions monosyllabically.
Charles Leclerc (4th): "I felt the changes in the car, but today our deficit is simply enormous. I'm sure we took a step forward, but for some reason, McLaren was faster than usual on this track!
It's a bit disappointing, but we expected these updates and received them. However, it’s frustrating that qualifying was so difficult in terms of gaps.
I'm satisfied with the car – it handles better, but despite that, I am seven-tenths behind. There’s still a lot to do. We need to improve grip with the track, which it seems we haven't achieved yet."
Lewis Hamilton (18th): "I got spun around. I believe it’s the first time this has happened in my career. Overall, the car isn’t handling very well. I have little to say.
Did the updates improve the car’s handling? No.
Tomorrow is a new day, so we’ll try, but I’m very upset. A lot of work has been done, and being in such positions after that is not very pleasant. I hope tomorrow will be better."
