Gabriel Bortoleto: We squeezed everything out of the car.

The race at Spa became the fifth consecutive that Sauber has scored points in. In Belgium, Gabriel Bortoloto finished ninth, and his teammate Nico Hülkenberg was twelfth. The team remained in sixth place in the Constructors' Championship, but the gap to the nearest competitors from Racing Bulls shrank to just two points.

Gabriel Bortoloto (9th): "I'm glad to have re-entered the top ten today. The track conditions were quite challenging – starting on a wet surface, which then began to dry, making subsequent events unpredictable. But we stayed focused, made the right strategic decisions, and managed to finish ninth.

Overall, I am satisfied with how the race went – I feel we extracted everything from the car. Throughout the weekend, we had decent speed, and I am grateful to the team for making me comfortable behind the wheel in every session.

Of course, I always want to fight for higher positions, but we achieved a good result and took another step forward. We earned two more points, which give me confidence ahead of the next round in Budapest in a few days.

I feel we are moving in the right direction, and I am happy to continue fighting and to finish the first half of my debut season with a strong result."

Nico Hülkenberg (12th): "The race was quite unusual from the start. After the first warm-up lap, we waited for more than an hour for weather conditions to improve. Of course, I am disappointed because I was just seconds away from earning points at the finish.

I had to make a second pit stop about eleven laps before the end – the front tires had significantly lost effectiveness, and I started experiencing issues with lock-ups and understeering. Staying on that set of tires was not an option, especially considering my car was set up for more downforce compared to Pierre Gasli ahead. So, I had to pit and then try to make up places, but unfortunately, it didn't work out.

Nevertheless, we had decent pace, and we made progress. Gabriel scored important points for our fight in the Constructors' Championship. Once again, we demonstrated that we are competitive in the middle of the pack, and that's a positive outcome of the weekend. Now, we're heading to Budapest for the next round."
