Laurent Mekis apologized to Yuki Tsunoda.

      Yuki Tsunoda started seventh in the Spa, hoping for points, but lost all chances when switching to slicks. He was already told to box when he drove past the pit entry and was forced to complete another lap on intermediate tires, losing a lot of time. Red Bull Racing's new team principal, Laurent Mekies, admitted the team's mistake.

      Laurent Mekies: "It was our mistake. We wanted Yuki to change tires on the same lap as Max. Everything was ready for that. The team was in place, we had prepared everything for both cars, but unfortunately, he was called into the pits too late. It’s our fault."
