Alonso: I have a minor injury, but everything is under control.
Felipe Drovic unexpectedly participated in the first free practice session at the Hungarian Grand Prix, replacing Fernando Alonso, who is recovering from a minor back injury sustained during the Spa race. Aston Martin modified the Spanish driver's seat, and he was back behind the wheel during the second practice session.
Lance Stroll completed both sessions in Hungary and was satisfied with how the race weekend started for him.
Lance Stroll (4th): "I'm glad to be back in Hungary – I always enjoy coming to this track. The lap times today looked positive, and the car handled well. I was happy with the balance in both sessions.
A good start to the weekend, but it's always hard to judge our position relative to the competitors after Friday."
Fernando Alonso (5th): "I have a minor back muscle injury, but the situation is under control. The team was able to find some solutions, which helped me not feel pain during the second session, which is positive.
I missed the first session, but the car handled well in the second. The balance isn't optimal yet, but we'll work on that tonight. We'll analyze the data collected and see what can be done tomorrow."
Felipe Drovic (16th in the first session): "Great to get back behind the wheel of the AMR25. The car handled well, and I felt comfortable. I only found out in the morning that I had to replace Fernando in the first practice.
I didn’t have much time to prepare, but I watched several laps of on-track footage, and before that, I did a few laps on the simulator as part of my work as a test and reserve driver this weekend.
Good session, and we did everything that was needed. That’s the most important thing."
