Oliver Berman: The machine is capable of high speed
Haas drivers with different moods commented on the results of Friday's practice sessions in Hungary. While Oliver Berman is pleased with the car, Esteban Ocon asserts that more work is needed to improve the VF-25's handling.
Oliver Berman (11th): "The first practice session went smoothly and was productive. The car was well-behaved from the first lap, which can be considered a good start to the weekend. I felt confident in the car on every lap and was gradually increasing my pace.
In the second session, the situation repeated itself, but it was more intense — I got caught in traffic many times, so it was difficult to find a rhythm. Nevertheless, I managed to put together a decent lap, but the car is capable of greater speed. I hope we can have a clean practice and qualifying tomorrow, securing good positions on the grid."
Esteban Ocon (13th): "In the first session, the car handled pretty well, but I didn't manage to perfect the lap, so I knew I could improve.
In the second session, it seems we took a step back because the car was harder to control. The balance in the corners was far from ideal, so in the evening we need to work on that to solve the issues and gain more speed from the car tomorrow.
It appears that a tenth separates six positions, so every little detail matters greatly. Tomorrow, we need to bring all the pieces together."
