At the Austin round, McLaren could break Mercedes' record.

In 2025 McLaren is firmly on course for the Constructors' Championship and the drivers' title. With ten races remaining, the Woking-based outfit's lead over nearest rivals Ferrari stands at 299 points, while Oscar Piastri leads his teammate Lando Norris by nine points and Max Verstappen by 97.

Over the past fourteen races Piastri and Norris have each reached the podium 12 times. That gives McLaren a total of 24 podiums this season. With that tally the British team sits 15th on the list of most podiums by a team in a single season, topped by Mercedes with 33 podiums in 2016.

Piastri and Norris need a further ten podiums between them in the remaining ten Grands Prix to surpass Mercedes' record. The likelihood of them doing so is very high, and if things go McLaren's way the team will set a new record for podiums in a season as early as the US Grand Prix in Austin in October.
