McLaren will auction its 2026 car in Abu Dhabi.

McLaren will give affluent fans and collectors a rare opportunity to buy the 2026 car before it takes to the grid.

In partnership with auction house RM Sotheby’s, an auction will be held in Abu Dhabi ahead of the season finale, and one of the lots will be a McLaren 2026 chassis that the buyer will take delivery of in 2028.

In the period between those two events the buyer will be provided with the MCL39 show car, exclusive access to the McLaren Technology Centre and the chance to take part in various events organised by the team.

Also up for auction will be McLaren’s newest hypercar built for WEC competition, and the Arrow McLaren car that Pato O’Ward, the team’s IndyCar driver, will race in the classic Indy 500 in May 2026.

According to Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, for the first time in history a Formula 1 car will be put up for auction before its official unveiling.

“The auction will provide a unique opportunity to own a piece of motorsport history,” Brown said while attending a car festival in Monterey, California. “These remarkable cars will also come with unprecedented, VIP‑level access to the team and to the races.”
