      Cadillac is anticipated to unveil its inaugural Formula 1 driver lineup, with strong speculation suggesting that Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez will represent the team in its first season in 2026. While Colton Herta has long been associated with the American outfit, recent rumors indicate that the Indycar driver may instead transition to Formula 2 next year in preparation for 2027. "I’ve heard those rumors as well," Herta stated to IndyStar at the Milwaukee Mile. "At this point, it's just rumors."

      Perez, who was released by Red Bull at the end of 2024, brings considerable support from Mexico, with his father even hinting at a confirmed deal on social media. Meanwhile, Bottas, currently a reserve for Mercedes, was also said to have turned down an offer from Alpine in favor of joining Cadillac.

      Cadillac ambassador Mario Andretti remarked to Blick: "Only trust what we convey." Conversely, former F1 driver Christian Danner believes the most probable pairing is Perez-Bottas. "Honestly, I don’t envision Mick Schumacher happening, though I would be pleased if it did," he shared with Express. "The decision-makers at Cadillac are looking for a dependable option, and Bottas and Perez fit that bill. They are Grand Prix winners."

      Schumacher is expected to transition from Alpine to Cadillac’s sports car program, potentially serving as a reserve for F1 as well. Another potential candidate is Aston Martin reserve Felipe Drugovich, with Fernando Alonso acknowledging to Marca that the Brazilian deserves a better opportunity. "It would be wonderful to see him in F1. He possesses remarkable talent. He’s delivered at the level the team expected from him, even with limited track time. It will be fascinating to see him in a permanent role."
