Esteban Ocon: Pérez and Bottas will quickly regain their speed
The return of Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez to Formula 1 in 2026 is one of the main topics of discussion in the Zandvoort paddock. Haas driver Esteban Ocon shared his thoughts on the contracts of the two experienced drivers with Cadillac.
"Familiar faces!" Esteban joked. "I've raced with them throughout my career. It's great that Sergio is coming back. We were teammates for two years, so it'll be nice to see him on the grid again, as well as Valtteri. I think they both deserve it.
Obviously, returning is always difficult, but given their experience of several hundred races, it won't take them long to get up to speed.
They both know very well how a team should operate. They know how everything works in Formula 1. In addition, there will be more pre-season testing before the switch to the new regulations. Everyone will have to get used to the new cars, but it will be easier for them compared to those drivers who still have fresh memories of the quirks of driving the current cars."
