Colapinto hopes to perform better on familiar tracks.

Franco Colapinto is having an uninspiring season with Alpine – in the eight rounds he has already contested with the Enstone-based team he has not scored a single point. Nevertheless, Franco has not lost optimism and is counting on a more successful second half of the season at circuits he knows well.

"The second half of the season will definitely be easier for me because I'll be racing at tracks I know and I better understand how everything works," the Argentine Alpine driver said in Zandvoort. "Last year I experienced a bit of a shock when I had to race in Baku and Singapore without preparation. Then there was the sprint in Austin – I had to race on tracks I don't know, in an unfamiliar car, but it all felt smooth.

"This year I'm having problems, but I hope that after returning to the tracks I raced on last year my pace and confidence in the car will come back. I hope that will make up for what I've been lacking this season."

Commenting on the gap to teammate Pierre Gasly, Franco Colapinto said: "The last few rounds have been better in terms of pace. At least compared with Pierre. The team and I have worked a lot on this and found some solutions, so I consider that good news."
