Hadjar: I'm not in F1 to play it safe.

In the last five races Isaac Hadjar has scored just one point, for eighth place in the Sprint at Spa, while his Racing Bulls teammate Liam Lawson has scored sixteen points over the same five races. At the FIA press conference in Zandvoort Isaac was asked what needed to be done to the car to bring his results closer to Lawson's.

"Nothing needs to be done to the car, since Liam scored eight points in the last two races," Hadjar replied. "So the car is working great. In my case I just need to avoid making mistakes at times when they're not needed. I feel that over the last two weekends I had good raw pace. Yes, there were some reliability issues, but I also need to do a better job myself. But the main thing is that the raw pace is there, so I'm not worried."

Answering a question about goals for the second half of the season, Isaac said: "The same as in the first — to keep improving. I didn't come to Formula 1 to be cautious and just try to score points. I experiment a lot to learn as much as possible. If that means I'll make mistakes, that's fine. I'm a rookie, and I'm trying different approaches to the job. I like it."
