Hamilton: I feel determination and motivation.

At Zandvoort Lewis Hamilton spoke optimistically about Ferrari's progress and his expectations…

Lewis Hamilton: "I had time, especially last week, to think about what is happening, about what we want to improve, what we'll try to change to move forward. The first half of the season brought quite a lot of positivity, although from the outside it may have seemed otherwise. And that positivity needs to be used and developed.

Success and victories never come on their own. There have always been difficulties. I don't like resting on what we've achieved and I don't like sitting idly by.

I believe we've made great progress and are moving in the right direction. We're gradually getting to grips with the new upgrades that appeared in Spa, getting more out of them with each race. I hope this weekend we will take another step.

I feel determination and motivation. We'll work hard, not be distracted by what's going on around us, try to adjust our approach and enjoy it — in the first half of the season there was so much pressure that it wasn't the most pleasant. But we must remember that we love our job and together we are doing one common thing.

This is extremely important. I came into racing because I found it interesting. And I think that for anyone, regardless of their line of work, if they don't like what they do, then why continue? Sometimes, because of the outside noise, you can lose sight of what really matters.

I want to get back to the previous enjoyment of the job. I joined the team I had always dreamed of driving for, but there was so much noise around that it prevented us from enjoying it. Now we need to discard everything unnecessary and focus on the love of what we do.

Yes, it turned out not to be easy to cope with the workload, with interacting with all the new partners, with the number of promotional shoots we took part in, with integrating into a new team. It's a very big team, the biggest brand in our sport. The combination of all these factors was a lot to deal with.

How do you find the balance between the driver having to adapt to a new team and the team having to adapt to the driver? There's a fine line here. My approach this year was to adapt as much as possible to their ways of working, rather than saying that everything needs to change. I tried to understand how they are used to and like to work, and then use my experience to figure out how to make things even better. But it's certainly a fine line.

I've been in a similar situation before. Coming to this team, which I truly believe in, I'm still confident that we can achieve a lot. Everyone in the team thinks the same.

But no one achieves success without going through difficulties. And of course, I'm looking forward to sunnier days.

What result do we expect in Monza? Honestly, I haven't thought about that. I try to live one day at a time. I don't know what to expect. Of course, the reception I saw in Imola was incredible."
