Charles Leclerc: I did my job poorly.

Ferrari drivers experienced opposite emotions after qualifying for the Dutch Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton was pleased to have reached the final for the first time since the Silverstone round, while his teammate Charles Leclerc was deeply disappointed with sixth on the grid and with his decisive fast lap.

Charles Leclerc (6th): "I am very disappointed in myself for having done my job badly. All weekend we've been on the back foot. I tried to change that and understand exactly what the car is lacking this weekend. We lose time in two or three corners, and that repeated itself in qualifying.

We weren't losing as much as in practice, but we were still losing time. I think that by trying to find what exactly the car is missing this weekend, we lost sight of consistency.

As I said, I didn't do my job well enough, especially in qualifying — I'm unhappy with my final lap. If I could have found another two or three tenths, I would have had a good starting position. You have to do everything perfectly, but this weekend we are far from that."

Lewis Hamilton (7th): "I think qualifying went okay. I was hoping for progress this weekend. Over the last few rounds I hadn't made the final, and here I've returned to the top ten. So there is progress.

Clearly the positions aren't what we want, and the car has been difficult to drive this weekend. At the last round Charles started from pole, and today we're six tenths down. Obviously we're missing something, but I'm feeling better about this weekend now.

I've changed my approach to work a bit, and that has allowed me to improve. After the summer break I feel much calmer."
