Max Verstappen: We have the same problems as always

Max Verstappen posted the fifth-fastest time in the second practice for the Dutch Grand Prix, finishing nearly six-tenths of a second behind the session leader Lando Norris. Commenting on his result, the Red Bull Racing driver said the car's problems remain and he does not expect the situation to change drastically in the remaining days of the weekend.

His teammate Yuki Tsunoda, nine-tenths of a second off the leader, was seventh in the timesheets.

Max Verstappen (5th): "There was nothing outstanding today — we have the same problems with the car as always. We tried many setup options, but none of them were able to solve the issues that have arisen. We'll see in the evening what we can do to gain pace on Saturday, but I don't expect any major changes. Additionally, the characteristics of the circuit don't help in solving the car's problems. The main difficulties are in the second sector, where there are many long, sweeping corners. The car doesn't look its best through them. It looks like this weekend I will be able to fight for a top-five result, but we'll know more on Saturday."

Yuki Tsunoda (7th): "I think the first practice went well, but by the end of the session we lost a bit of speed, which happens when you're trying to get the maximum out of the car. The situation isn't ideal, but at least now I know the limit. Before the second practice the team adjusted the setup, and the session went well. On the long run we were quite far off, but on the quick run we looked very good — the opposite of what happened in the first practice. We need to find the optimal balance in the second sector, so we have work to do before tomorrow. It's good that the practices went smoothly — that builds confidence for the remaining days of the weekend."
