Isaac Hadjar: Sainz ruined my out-lap from the pit lane.
For Racing Bulls drivers, qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix was over as early as the first session – Isack Hadjar had his decisive attempt impeded by Carlos Sainz. Liam Lawson, who posted the slowest time, also complained about traffic.
Isack Hadjar (16th): "A disappointing qualifying for us. Carlos came out in front of me on scrubbed tyres, and I could see he was struggling to get into the right position on the track. I still don't know what he was doing, but my out-lap was ruined and then I made a mistake on the flying lap.
Overall our car is quick at this circuit. I was very happy with the pace in FP3 and on my first run in qualifying, but starting from the back means I face a tough race. We'll try to do everything possible to recover tomorrow."
Liam Lawson (20th): "A very disappointing qualifying. On the decisive lap I got into the 'dirty' air, which led to understeer through Turn 6 and caused me to run off the track.
It's a shame because the car has been quick all weekend. We had some issues, but the guys in the garage worked hard to sort them out before qualifying.
There are a lot of cars starting ahead of me, but I'll do everything I can to fight my way up."
