Lewis Hamilton has emerged as the latest Formula 1 icon linked to a potential investment in MotoGP team ownership. The seven-time world champion arrived at Monza last weekend riding a Ducati adorned with MotoGP-style graphics and the number 1 on the front, further showcasing his passion for motorcycles and racing.
As reported by Auto Motor und Sport, Hamilton is now among those investigating opportunities to enter the series, following speculation that Max Verstappen has also reached out to satellite teams regarding a possible acquisition.
"Things could get even more explosive," noted journalist Joel Lischka. "The superstar and Verstappen’s main rival, Lewis Hamilton, is also reportedly considering the potential of buying a MotoGP team. A showdown between Verstappen and Hamilton in the Motorcycle World Championship? That would be remarkable."
These latest rumors surface as Liberty Media finalizes its acquisition of MotoGP’s promoter, while former Haas team principal Gunther Steiner heads a consortium that has acquired the Tech3 KTM squad. Steiner commented: "This racing series is expanding, and the entrance of Liberty Media marks a significant advancement. They want this to succeed and plan to invest heavily to ensure that happens. They already possess significant experience from their expansions in Formula 1."
