Hockenheim confirmed interest in Formula 1.
Recently Formula 1 chief Stefano Domenicali spoke of interest from Portugal, Turkey and Germany in returning to the calendar. The new owners of the Hockenheim circuit have confirmed that interest.
In August last year a group of investors, Emodrom, acquired 74.99% of Hockenheimring's shares for €5.5 million to turn it into an amusement park, and is prepared to invest in modernizing the racing infrastructure.
Jörn Teske, the circuit director: "There is no doubt that we in Hockenheim are very interested in Formula 1, and we are very pleased that this interest is mutual. The involvement of private investors will undoubtedly give the project a new impetus.
The top priority remains the economic viability of the model for staging a Formula 1 round. Therefore, our current goal is to consider all the factors and conditions for organizing the Grand Prix."
