50 minutes until the start: George Russell's commentary
On Thursday George Russell missed a day of media duties due to feeling unwell, but on race day he was bright and fresh…
George Russell: "I feel much better today, although the weekend has been difficult for me so far. I tried to rest as much as possible in the hope of getting my health back for the race, and I managed to do that, so that's a positive.
To be honest, qualifying was tricky because of the red flags and everything else. We went out on track fairly early when the surface wasn't in the best condition, but we understood that and felt it was safer to post a more or less reasonable time earlier.
Let's see what we can do today, because no one has really worked on the hard tyre yet. Our goal is to try to finish ahead of the Ferraris and score as many points as possible. I think we can fight for a podium as well. Starting ahead of us are Carlos Sainz and Liam Lawson, who of course did a great job yesterday, but today we'll try to get past them.
On the other hand, behind us are the McLarens, and they will be very quick. Most likely they're planning to use some kind of original tactic, and Lando and Oscar usually make it onto the podium. So we'll have to keep an eye on their actions, and on Charles Leclerc, who always performs well at this circuit."
