Bortoletto: Eleventh place — our best for today.

The Sauber team failed to score points in Baku. After the finish Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hülkenberg said the car lacked the pace to fight in the top ten.

Gabriel Bortoleto (11th): "A tense race. I spent the entire distance surrounded by rivals and constantly riding very close to the walls. I believe we did everything we could, so eleventh place is our maximum for today.

Overall the weekend was difficult for the team, and I don't think the car had the pace to finish higher. Nevertheless, we kept attacking and learned several important lessons.

Some weekends you are fighting, some you are not, but that's racing. Now all focus is on the Singapore round, which will take place in two weeks."

Nico Hülkenberg (16th): "One of those races where very little went right. I constantly found myself in the wrong place at the wrong time, losing here and there. The standout moment was the restart, when I pulled off a great double overtake into turn three. But then I got stuck behind Franco Colapinto and Lance Stroll for most of the first stint. I lost a lot of time, and that proved to be the decisive moment.

The pace toward the end was good, but by then the race had already slipped away from us – qualifying and the opening laps cost us dearly. Today there was practically no opportunity to change the order.

Not our strongest weekend, but the team will take lessons from this experience and try to perform better next time."
