Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko says the next race in Singapore will largely be the decisive one in the title fight. If Verstappen can also win at the Marina Bay circuit, then you could talk about Max returning to the ranks of title contenders.
"The gap is still big, sixty-nine points, so we'll see," Helmut Marko said after the finish of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. "It's not that common for a McLaren driver not to finish. But I always say: you have to be as close as possible to make them nervous.
The last race showed that the win in Monza was not an exception. Now everyone in the team is eagerly awaiting the Singapore round. If we are competitive there as well, then yes, we can start dreaming [of fighting for the title].
Singapore not only requires high downforce, but it's also very hot there, and such conditions don't suit our car very well. So Singapore will be a benchmark round to assess our true form."
