Mario Isola, Pirelli's Director of Motorsport: "A one-stop strategy is the only sensible option at this circuit, and today was no exception, even though we brought softer compounds than last year. In addition, the cooler weather helped teams and drivers cope with thermal degradation, particularly of the rear tyres.
As a result, from a tyre-management point of view the race was very straightforward. The Medium and Hard compounds are very close in characteristics and in terms of degradation, which was practically non-existent for both compounds. The C4 tyres covered the greatest distance (598 laps, 61.84%), while the Soft compound was not used at all in the race.
Up next are further 2026 tyre tests. On 25 and 26 September Ferrari and Haas will each carry out one day of running with us at Mugello, focusing on the hardest slick compounds."
