Zak Brown: Oscar and Lando have equal opportunities

With seven races remaining in the season, Max Verstappen cut the gap to the leader of the drivers' standings, Oscar Piastri, to 69 points. McLaren boss Zak Brown confirmed that despite the potential threat from Verstappen, Piastri and Lando Norris will retain equal chances in the fight for the title.

Zak Brown: "I suppose we should pay attention to Max. But at the same time the team will continue to operate as it has before. The situation in the Constructors' Championship is very favourable. We could have guaranteed the win in Baku, but let's not talk about Baku. I hope we will finish the job in Singapore.

We want both our drivers and Max to be able to fight for the title. The team gives its drivers equal opportunities and identical equipment. On our part we will do everything to ensure the best wins. And our drivers want that too.

We want to not interfere at all, as much as possible, but Lando had technical problems, and a lot can happen during a safety-car period.

Nevertheless, the team's goal is for Lando and Oscar to fight for the title all the way to the Abu Dhabi round. And may the best win."
