Lando Norris: Don't give up until the very end.
Lando Norris is not going to give up and intends to fight for the title to the end, inspired by the example of the American golf team, which last Sunday, while in a difficult situation, beat their European opponents in the singles matches of the traditional Ryder Cup.
"You must never give up, right?" the British McLaren driver said in an interview with Sky Sports. "I suppose last weekend we saw a good example of that: as long as the fight continues, don't give up.
I think Team America, after the defeats they suffered on Friday and Saturday, showed that they can still achieve success and were very close to winning the tournament.
I suppose we're in a similar situation: that team had only seven hours or one day in reserve, and we have seven races to go, plus sprints. There will still be plenty of opportunities, and although I'm 20 or however many points behind, that's not so much.
I've already clawed back a bit after retiring and losing 18 points in the Netherlands, and my situation was probably a bit like the one the US team was in last Friday or Saturday. Now I'll try to spend the rest of my season playing like they did on Sunday.
I'm in a chasing position, I have to try to recover, but you can't give up until the very end, and that's the mindset I need to have."
Norris sits second in the drivers' standings, trailing Oscar Piastri, his McLaren teammate, by 25 points. Last year it was Lando who won the Singapore Grand Prix and, of course, he will try to repeat that success this coming weekend.
