"Flavio and Christian share a long-standing friendship."
Christian Horner continues to be the subject of speculation in Singapore, even as he makes appearances on the public-speaking circuit. The former Red Bull team principal has been listed by a UK agency with a minimum fee of 25,000 pounds per appearance for conferences and after-dinner events. However, sources suggest that Horner’s true goal is to make a return to Formula 1. Haas has confirmed they have had discussions but has ruled out any further negotiations, while Aston Martin was believed to be a more likely option. Nonetheless, team principal Andy Cowell attempted to downplay the rumors. "I spoke with Lawrence (Stroll) this morning to see what he knows. It seems that Christian is reaching out to virtually every team owner right now, so you can pass the question along," he stated. "I can clearly say there are no plans for Christian’s involvement in any operational or investment capacity in the future." Alpine has also been mentioned, considering Horner’s long-term friendship with Flavio Briatore. Steve Nielsen, the well-known former Renault figure who has returned to Enstone, stated in Singapore: "As far as I know, no. But Flavio and Christian are old friends, and that's no secret. What they might have discussed, I cannot say. However, from what I see and know, there’s no truth to the idea of Christian joining Alpine - but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen. This is Formula 1, after all." Williams team principal James Vowles also dismissed any approach. "I believe it’s important to always be open to a conversation," he remarked when asked if Horner could ever fit in at Grove. "There's no benefit in shutting the door. But I think we are very pleased with our current structure, and it’s functioning well. Therefore, I don’t see any reason to change that."
