Gasly criticizes Alpine car following 'uneventful' Singapore race.

"It’s just not enjoyable to drive like this right now."

Pierre Gasly left Singapore feeling extremely frustrated after a disappointing weekend with Alpine, describing his race as "boring" and conceding that driving the team's car is "just not enjoyable at this time." The French driver, who began the race from the pitlane due to a qualifying setback and finished in second to last place, told Krone Zeitung that the lack of speed left him with minimal opportunities to compete. "Beginning from the pitlane, stuck behind another car's rear wing for 50 laps - it was simply a dull race," he stated.

When asked about the harsh physical conditions characteristic of Singapore, Gasly replied sarcastically. "It was fine. We were too slow for it to be physically challenging," he was quoted by Krone Zeitung.

"It’s just not enjoyable to drive like this right now," he continued. "We simply lack the competitiveness to truly fight. It's just frustrating."

Alpine's decline in performance has persisted for several weekends, with the team failing to score points since Belgium. "To be honest, the last few weekends simply haven’t been adequate. Overall, it feels like we’re not getting things right," Gasly acknowledged.

Despite significant restructuring at Enstone and the hope of improved performance when the team switches to Mercedes customer power units in 2026, Gasly's patience seems to be wearing thin. "You still give it a try," he stated. "You attempt to apply pressure on the car ahead and force it to make a mistake. That’s all you can do."

The 29-year-old finished P19 in Singapore, ahead of only Nico Hulkenberg, who spun his Sauber. "Now we need to sit down with the team, discuss some matters, and work on them together," Gasly remarked. "Austin should fit us better as a track."
