For Mercedes it was their 143rd pole and fourth in Singapore — the last time the team took pole at Marina Bay was Lewis Hamilton in 2018.

Max Verstappen qualified second, securing his 82nd front-row start of his career, his ninth this season and his fourth in Singapore. In the last three Grands Prix Verstappen outqualified both McLaren drivers.

Oscar Piastri’s third place is his best result in Singapore.

Kimi Antonelli qualified in the top four in consecutive Grands Prix for the first time in his career.

Lando Norris qualified fifth, outside the top four for the second race in a row.

Having qualified sixth, Lewis Hamilton started outside the top five in Singapore for the first time, but for the fifth time this season he outqualified his Ferrari teammate.

Ninth in qualifying was Oliver Bearman’s best career result. Haas F1 know the secrets of the Singapore circuit — the American team have started in the top ten for the fourth consecutive season.

For the third year in a row Lance Stroll was eliminated in Singapore in the first part of qualifying.

      Race

By winning the Singapore Grand Prix, George Russell took the fifth victory of his career, his second this season and his first at this circuit. It was Mercedes’ 131st win and their fifth in Singapore — the previous one was Lewis Hamilton’s in 2018.

It was Russell’s 23rd podium and his eighth this season — the Briton equaled his best career tally, set in 2022. Twenty-three podiums was also the career total of Jacques Villeneuve, Michele Alboreto and James Hunt. Previously Russell had never stood on the podium in Singapore.

Max Verstappen finished second — the Singapore circuit remains the only venue on the calendar where he has yet to win. With six races remaining, Verstappen trails championship leader Oscar Piastri by 63 points.

By finishing third and fourth, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri secured the Constructors’ Championship for McLaren early. This is McLaren’s first consecutive Constructors’ Championships since the run from 1988 to 1991.

McLaren clinched the Constructors’ Championship with six races remaining, matching Red Bull’s 2023 record.

By finishing fifth, Kimi Antonelli recorded top-five finishes in two consecutive Grands Prix for the first time in his career.

Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton scored only 12 points over the weekend. The Scuderia sit third in the Constructors’ Championship, 27 points behind Mercedes with six races remaining.

Seventh for Fernando Alonso was his best result since the summer break.

After a penalty Lewis Hamilton dropped to eighth in the classification, but he gave Ferrari their first fastest lap of the season — the Scuderia’s 264th and the 68th of his career.

For the second year in a row no safety car was deployed during the Singapore race.

This was the first Singapore Grand Prix in history without any retirements.
