Luke Browning will replace Sainz in the first practice in Mexico.
Williams announced an upcoming change to its lineup for the first free practice session of the Mexican Grand Prix. Williams Driver Academy member Luke Browning will replace Carlos Sainz at the wheel of the FW47.
For the British driver this will be his third experience taking part in free practice sessions. Last year he took the wheel of a Williams in the first practice in Abu Dhabi, replacing Alex Albon. This season Browning already replaced Sainz in the first practice in Bahrain.
Luke Browning: "I'm very grateful for another opportunity to take part in the first practice with Williams and to sit behind the wheel of the FW47 for a second time. I've been working hard to prepare for this session as best I can. I'll try to make the most of this amazing opportunity and help the team carry out the weekend preparation program. I can't wait to get back behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car. I'm very grateful to everyone at the Williams Driver Academy and the Williams team for believing in me and supporting me."
In 2025 Luke Browning is competing in Formula 2. With two rounds to go he sits third in the drivers' championship with one victory in the Sunday race in Monza and nine podiums.
