"I’m collaborating effectively with the team."

Franco Colapinto’s prospects for a future in Formula 1 with Alpine appear to be increasingly promising, bolstered by significant new commercial support from his backers at Mercado Libre. Their vibrant yellow branding will be showcased on the team's special livery for the next three races.

The Argentine rookie has received mixed evaluations regarding his performance, with team advisor Flavio Briatore cautioning earlier this season that Colapinto must continue to impress to secure his seat for 2026. However, his off-track value to the Enstone team has never been more significant.

Alpine and Mercado Libre introduced the eye-catching yellow livery in Austin, promoting Latin America’s expanding influence in F1 through a campaign titled Unidos por la Velocidad ("United by Speed").

"The livery showcases Mercado Libre’s distinctive yellow, which will be prominently featured at the upcoming Grands Prix in Austin, Mexico City, and Sao Paulo," Alpine stated. "The campaign includes Franco Colapinto and Brazilian football superstar Neymar Jr., marking a new chapter in our collaboration."

Mercado Libre CMO Sean Summers mentioned that the partnership reflects "a mutual passion for speed and excellence," while Alpine marketing head Guy Martin commended the initiative as part of a wider strategy to "engage new audiences enthusiastic about Formula 1."

Colapinto expressed that racing in his sponsor’s colors is "very special." "It signifies bringing a brand to the track that originated in my country and now represents millions of Latin Americans," he stated. "For any driver, competing in Formula 1 is a dream. I’m living that dream—with effort, dedication, and the support of an incredible team."

When speaking to reporters in Austin, the 22-year-old mentioned that Alpine management has merely encouraged him to "continue doing what I’m doing" in the remaining six races.

"I’m collaborating effectively with the team, and everyone remains motivated even when we face challenges with our speed," Colapinto stated, although he emphasized that he knows "nothing" about what the future holds for him.

"The car isn’t currently where we want it to be, but I trust that it will be competitive next year. When our opportunity arises, we’ll be prepared."
