Elkann confirmed that he fully trusts Vassyor.
John Elkann again confirmed that Ferrari fully trusts Fred Vasseur, the head of the factory team competing in Formula 1.
The Scuderia is having a difficult season and could well drop to fourth in the Constructors' Championship, yielding to Red Bull Racing, as Max Verstappen has been producing excellent results lately, including winning the sprint in Austin today.
The comments from the Ferrari president came amid rumours that Vasseur could be replaced by Christian Horner, and that some contacts with the former Red Bull Racing team principal have allegedly already begun, albeit at an early stage.
The Ferrari president made the statement in Washington during the anniversary conference of the National Italian-American Foundation, marking the organization's 50th anniversary.
"I want to express my full confidence in the head of our team, Fred Vasseur," Elkann said. "We trust the work he is doing at the Scuderia together with all our colleagues — the mechanics, engineers and drivers who are competing this weekend in Austin.
I would also like to emphasize the importance of teamwork, in which everyone must participate, so that all attention is focused on achieving the single important goal: on the racetrack we must always give our absolute best."
Vasseur has held the position of Ferrari team principal since January 2023, and two and a half months ago it was announced that his contract had been extended.
