On Friday, the new upgrades didn't help Haas F1.

In practice Esteban Ocon was able to test the updates prepared by Haas F1, while Oliver Bearman only received them in the sprint qualifying. So far those expectations have not been met; both drivers were eliminated in the first session…

Oliver Bearman (16th): “I’m disappointed with the sprint qualifying results. In practice I was happy with the car, but in qualifying I was only able to do one lap — and it wasn’t the best, and I simply didn’t get to a second. After the morning practice the updates were fitted to my car, the car’s behavior changed, and I didn’t have the chance to get used to it. I’m sure I would have done the second lap better. We need to understand why we didn’t make it in time.”

Esteban Ocon (19th): “Unfortunately, the first lap was very bad — in the first corner I lost control of the rear of the car. I began the second attempt already under the checkered flag in a large group of drivers — and again didn’t make it. In the sprint we’ll have the opportunity to study how the updates work and gather information on the revised car — that’s what we’ll focus on.”
