The turn in Austin was named after Mario Andretti.
The twentieth turn of the Austin circuit has been given its own name. At a special ceremony attended by 85-year-old Mario Andretti, the last American Formula 1 champion, it was named after the driver. On the memorial plaque at the turn, Andretti is mistakenly called "the only American to have won the Formula One World Championship," but they overlooked Phil Hill's 1961 title. The Andretti turn is located near key viewing points for fans and is clearly visible from the main grandstand.
