Ralf Schumacher suggests that Charles Leclerc should seriously think about alternatives as the internal issues at Ferrari continue to intensify. Speaking with Sky Deutschland, Schumacher expressed that John Elkann’s strong criticism—often viewed as directed mainly at Lewis Hamilton—should lead Leclerc to reevaluate his long-term prospects with the team.

"If I were Charles Leclerc, I’d certainly question what the purpose of this is," Schumacher stated. "He’s performing excellently, he’s personable, and he suits Ferrari well. I’d have my manager reach out to find out what’s happening. In situations like this, I’ve always had a backup plan, and I would recommend doing the same in his shoes."

He noted that Hamilton has not met Ferrari’s expectations. "I think this is the most costly staffing decision Ferrari has made in quite some time," Schumacher added. "His performance isn’t satisfactory. Lewis Hamilton simply isn't performing well enough. I believe Ferrari anticipated more—Elkann expected more.

"The name may have boosted the stock price, but unfortunately, the results didn’t follow." Leclerc’s management team, led by Nicolas Todt, recently hinted in the international media that all possibilities should be considered, suggesting that the Monegasque may look for new opportunities if the situation at Maranello worsens.

Regarding the championship battle, Schumacher cautioned that tensions at McLaren are noticeably increasing. "The two McLaren drivers aren’t getting along very well at the moment—you can see it," he remarked. "Everyone is vying for the World Championship, and no one wants to miss out. They could easily collide in a corner."

He added that another comeback by Max Verstappen is unlikely unless there's a significant change among the McLaren drivers. "Under normal circumstances, it’s nearly impossible," Schumacher concluded. "Perhaps Mercedes could position themselves between them, and if Max then has a strong race, he might have a slight chance—but that’s all it is."
