Doriane Pin emphasizes that his ultimate goal is Formula 1.
"They arranged a grand celebration in my honor."
Recently crowned F1 Academy champion Doriane Pin is in Abu Dhabi this weekend for meetings to discuss the next phase of her career—yet the 21-year-old acknowledges that nothing is finalized at this stage. Supported by Mercedes, the French driver stated that the team has been "providing me with various options to help me make the right choice" for 2026, following her visit to the Brackley factory to commemorate her championship win.
"It was unforgettable," she shared with L’Equipe. "I saw a large poster celebrating my championship triumph. It was very touching—they had arranged a significant celebration for me with around 500 attendees." However, her destination for 2026 remains undecided. "We're here in Abu Dhabi to talk about it, but to be honest, we don’t have 100 percent clarity yet. The aim is to reach the highest level, and Mercedes shares that same ambition with me. There are many options, but we’re not sure yet."
Pin clarified her ultimate aspiration. "For me, it's F1—that's the goal. After that, the specific path I take doesn't concern me. Regardless of where I end up, my final aim is Formula 1, and that's what I'm focused on." When asked if she worries about losing public attention if she moves to a less-publicized category like F3, FRECA, or endurance racing, Pin said she needs to "leverage my career and results to create opportunities."
"Wherever I go, it has to be promoted, and it's important for people to believe in it too." Her championship title has already increased her visibility at home. "Since the Las Vegas event, I've been inundated with requests," she noted. "I’m heading to Paris in two weeks for a media tour." Pin hopes to finalize her plans for 2026 "before Christmas."
