Hamilton: I like being in Japan.
Before the Japanese Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton spoke in an interview with the press service about his love for this country and the track in Suzuka...
Lewis Hamilton: "I have been to Japan many times, I love this country, and the track in Suzuka is one of my favorites. It's one of those places I like to come to every year.
I usually fly to Tokyo in advance. I love the cleanliness of this city, I like the small cars. I always visit an arcade. As a child, I played with remote-controlled cars and raced them, so I enjoy going to the Tamiya shop where they make them. There is a Japanese guy who created all the sounds for Mario Kart – I have known them since childhood!
Suzuka is the most iconic track we race on during the season. Racing there is truly amazing. It is shaped like an eight, crossing itself, you drive over a bridge above the track, then under the bridge. Of course, I have watched recordings of Ayrton Senna's performances in Suzuka – it was a legendary time.
I try to adjust my schedule to arrive in Japan as early as possible and spend more time here. I really like it here."
