Palmer: Verstappen and Mercedes will continue negotiations
Former driver and F1 TV expert Jolyon Palmer believes that the lack of a title fight this year will push Max Verstappen to continue negotiations with Mercedes.
Jolyon Palmer: "Negotiations will continue simply because Red Bull will not win the title this year. They will have to make a huge effort to catch up with the leaders, but Max is not here to finish eighth in qualifying – even a podium won't satisfy him.
Verstappen will be looking for a way to get into Mercedes, as they have the best car. It is clear that they will be able to contend for the title over the next few years, but Toto Wolff understands that the dominance will gradually decrease – and will try to reach an agreement with Max as soon as possible."
