Windows: Our car is more competitive than last year's.

After the first two stages of the season, Esteban Ocon has no points. However, the Haas driver is not discouraged and assures that the VF-26 is more competitive than last year's car.

Esteban Ocon: "I believe that there were many positive moments in the first two stages, and the basic characteristics of the car are really very good. I was unlucky in the first two races because the virtual and real safety car came out at the wrong moment.

Now I am happy to arrive in Japan at one of my favorite tracks. We'll see how fast we are, but we performed well last year. Our car is better than last year's, so if we can have a clean weekend, the results will change compared to the first two stages.

Our car is more competitive than last year's. Yes, last year it was faster due to a different regulation, but compared to the others this season, we look competitive – we are fast enough and capable of fighting with rivals we couldn't last year. So we see a lot of positives, but the pace of development of the cars is very high, and competitors bring updates to each race, and we need to do the same to maintain our current level. Otherwise, the others will gain, and we will fall behind.

We have very good starts, both my teammate and I. I am just gaining positions. The team has this advantage right now, but there are no guarantees that it will last."
