Former Formula 1 driver and commentator for British Sky Sports Martin Brundle commented on Jonathan Wheatley's resignation as team principal of Audi and his possible move to Aston Martin.

"In Aston Martin, the leadership is constantly changing, isn't it? And, it seems to me, they make quite strange decisions about who does what and who is in charge," Martin Brundle shared his opinion on the F1 Show. "Honestly, it's very curious just to watch this, being familiar with some of the participants in the events.

I assume that Jonathan Wheatley will move to Aston Martin. He is my friend, but he doesn't want to talk about it yet. I'm sure he's just not allowed to.

I don't think he would casually walk away from the project at Audi, the family's move to Switzerland, and everything else. So let's assume that after the negotiations are completed, a mandatory vacation, or something like that, he will end up at Aston Martin.

Adrian Newey knows him very well from their time together at Red Bull. I think Jonathan's pragmatism and practical approach would help the team, so inviting him would be a sensible move. Honestly, I didn't expect this from Jonathan, although I was told twice in Melbourne that it would happen.

He could be a great asset for Aston Martin, but they need to calm down and focus on one thing. Right now, they look like a Premier League football club that is constantly changing coaches. But then what?

Everyone in the team is just hiding and lowering their heads because they don't know what will happen next, who will be their leader, what the strategy is, and so on. So this is really a difficult situation for everyone at Aston Martin."
