Hadjar and Lindblad completed the Pirelli tests in Suzuka.
On the second and final day of the 2027 Pirelli tire prototype tests in Suzuka, the focus was on wet compounds – the weather did not allow for anything else. Isaac Hadjar behind the wheel of Red Bull and Arvid Lindblad in Racing Bulls tested different options for wet and intermediate tires. In the morning, they managed to complete several installation laps on slicks, but then precipitation of varying intensity began. The consistently rainy weather allowed for several series of laps on intermediate tires before lunch, but due to heavy rain, they had to switch to wet tires, and by the evening, there was so much water that continuing the tests became impossible. Hadjar completed 34 laps with a best time of 1:33.846, while Lindblad completed 51 laps with a best of 1:35.490. Now, the Pirelli tests will continue on April 9 and 10 in Fiorano, where together with Ferrari, the tire manufacturers will test wet tires – if there is no rain, the track will be specially watered. On April 14 and 15, slick tire tests will take place at the Nürburgring with the participation of Mercedes and McLaren – the last time Formula 1 teams visited there was in 2020 for the Eifel Grand Prix.
