Mike Krack: There are no issues between Aston Martin and Honda.

Before the start of the race in Japan, Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll and Honda Racing Corporation president Koji Watanabe posed for photographers, shaking hands. Mike Krack, Aston Martin's racing director, stated that there was nothing unusual about this handshake and that there was no need to look for a hidden meaning in it.

"There is no need to think that the handshake was a sign of peace [between Aston Martin and Honda], as we already have a good relationship," Krack said after the race. "We came to Japan understanding that this is a home race for our partners.

We have great respect for Honda and see how much effort they put into solving the problems that arise. For us, finishing in the race was a way to show them our respect, and we did everything possible for the result.

We are in constant contact with Honda. We have no need to make peace with them, as there are no issues between us."
